Merlyn was a homunculus created by the wizard Mythandor. However, due to a tragic accident at the Spellforge that left Merlyn trapped underground for centuries, the little creature eventually became self-aware and dedicated himself to Gond--the patron deity of all artificers. When he was finally rescued, he joined an adventuring party known as The Order of the Biscuit and set out to find his new purpose in the world.
